Registration and conditions
For a preliminary assessment of the application we need three documents first:
1) the application form Application
2) the most recent academic record
3) a self-description of the student.
These three documents should be sent first by FAX, per e-mail or airmail addressed to Dr. Herminio Schmidt info@english-in-canada.com.
The other required documents including two passport photos can be submitted later. Herminio Schmidt will inform the applicant if there is a chance of being accepted by the school.
Only then will the Academic School Committee review the application and officially inform the applicant of his/her acceptance. After receiving the letter and invoice from the school, applicants will then have to submit tuition payment. After receipt of the fees, the school will provide the official Letter of Acceptance as well as a custodial letter as soon as placement in a host family is confirmed. (After the end of March (for start of school in September) or after August 30 (for start of school in January) applications are only accepted provided space is still available.
Cancellation
Tuition already paid will be refunded in full (with the exception of a $ 250 administration fee) prior to April 30. Requests for a refund after April 30 must be accompanied by a letter from the Canadian Embassy stating that the visa application has been refused. In either case, everything except a $250 administrative fee will be refunded. If a student discontinues classes during the year or is asked to withdraw from the school because of behaviour deemed unacceptable by the school or host family, or because of irregular attendance, or inattention to studies, NO REFUND will be granted.
Unexpected withdrawal from school due to illness
In case the school term has to be discontinued due to illness or accident the following
conditions apply:
Parents can reclaim the remaining tuition and host family fees of the still open FULL
months (with the exception of a $ 250 administration fee).
Visa/Study Permit:
After receipt of full payment and all documents listed on the application form the school will sent the Letter of Acceptance and the Custodial Letter which are needed when applying for the Study permit/Visa from the Canadian Embassy.
