Herminio Schmidt, Associate Professor Emeritus

In 1996 Dr. Herminio Schmidt established „English in Canada” for international students. He places international students in Canadian High Schools and young students, ages 10-17, in a 3 or 4-week summer language camp at the University in Ottawa. In 1974 he established and led the largest language school in Canada for 21 years. As a university teacher, he was chairman of the Modern Language Department at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Lisbeth Graverholt, senior master at Hjørring Gymnasium, Denmark

Lisbeth Graverholt teaches German and English at the Gymnasium in Hjørring, Denmark. She has been organizing an annual student exchange program between Denmark and Germany for 15 years. Lisbeth Graverholt is also the International Coordinator at her high school. She is an important associate in all aspects of the successful “English in Canada” program.

Laura Vazquez, Mexico

Laura worked as an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher for 25 years in very prestigious schools in Mexico, such as Universidad Ibero Americana and Esc. Federal Lazaro Cardenas. During this time, she had many experiences working directly with students of all ages, from Grade 6th to university levels. For the past 11 years she has been working in the travel industry through her own travel agency, organizing and leading many groups to travel around the world. She is actively involved in the student exchange program " English in Canada". She brings students from all over Mexico to Canada for a cultural and learning experience which includes many leisure extracurricular activities.
